You run your own week.
When you call, somebody picks up.

No-touch dry van on I‑80 between Denver and Dunkirk. About 70% drop and hook, around 90% of loads planned before you get to them, roughly 3,000 miles a week, and you are home on the weekend.

Takes about 30 seconds. No resume, no account to create.

$100K Average driver earnings last year. Range runs $75K to $100K+.
~3,000 Miles a week, steady. We keep you moving instead of sitting.
70% Drop and hook. 100% no-touch freight — a forklift does the work.
Weekends Home every weekend. Friday to Sunday or Saturday to Monday.

The job

Straight answers about the week you'd actually run.

Nothing here is a teaser rate or a best-case week. This is how the freight moves at Hoker, and it is the same answer you will get on the phone.

  • No-touch, mainly dry van

You are not unloading freight. About 70% of it is drop and hook, so most stops are back under it and go.

  • The lane is I-80, Denver to Dunkirk

Midwest and east on a corridor you get to know. No New York City. No west coast.

  • About 90% pre-planned

Next week is usually built before you get there. Fewer surprises, fewer wasted hours.

  • Automatic Internationals

Inspected and serviced on a schedule, because a broken truck does not pay anybody.

  • Home on the weekend

Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday. If you want to stay out longer, we can do that too.

  • Paid every week

Steady miles and a consistent paycheck. Our drivers averaged $100,000 last year.

How we run

A blown air hose is a thirty minute problem — if you call.

Twenty-five-plus years in Dixon and we still cannot name the kind of driver who looks good on paper and fails here. The ones who do not make it all quit doing the same thing: they quit communicating. That is the whole list.

Call in early. Any hour, anything. We cannot fix what we do not know about.

Tell us what happened. Back into a dock, tear a mud flap — say so. We deal with damage all day long.

Don't yell at the office. Nobody in that building is your problem. They are the people who fix it.

And your MVR matters here more than it does at most fleets this size. Not for the insurance file — because of the other lives out on the road with you.

Who fits here

Self-managing adults. That's the whole profile.

If you want somebody standing over you, this is the wrong fleet. If you are tired of being a truck number at a place where nobody answers the phone, keep reading.

What we ask for

  • Valid CDL-A
  • At least 2 years OTR experience
  • A clean motor vehicle record
  • You live along the I-80 corridor
  • You pick up the phone and tell the truth

What you get that is hard to replace

  • Seniority and benefits that build
  • The owner's phone number, and he answers it
  • A dispatcher who works the problem with you
  • 32 trucks, not 3,200 — you are a name here

Good pay, good working conditions, steady work. It's a family-oriented business, and they work with you when you need time off.

Dave Wuestenberg — driver at Hoker since 2010

Jeff and Penny Hoker started with one truck at a farm in Dixon, Iowa in 2000. There are 32 on the road today. Same family, same phone number.
